On Saturday, May 12th, Campbell Soup Company will join forces with the National Association of Letter Carriers to help Stamp Out Hunger across America. Thursday, May 17 - Mosaics with Lisa Arnold

In this class students will learn how to make mosaics using stained glass, pebbles and ceramic tile. Each participant will create a small mosaic to take home and collaborate on a big community mosaic to be displayed at the library. Registration limited to 20 participants ages 10 years and up. Thursday, May 17 - Dog Day Afternoons at the Delano Library

Cuddle up and read with Annie, our golden retriever friend, on the third Thursday of each month after school. Sign ups are on the same day for 15 minutes of one on one reading time. We will provide books of all reading levels for you to enjoy, so just bring yourself for a "pawsitive" reading experience. Annie, our certified Reading Education Assistance Dong, can't wait to read with you.

The Rogers Spring Clean Up day is scheduled for May 19, 2012 from 8am to 1pm.
When: 8:00 AM - 1:00 PM
Who: Rogers's residents only. Contractors and businesses must use alternative service.
The City of Rogers Public Works Department will be making special curbside pickups for elderly or special needs residents. To arrange for this service please call the Public Works Department at 763-428-8580 on or before Friday, May 11, 2012.

Saturday, May 19 - Book Making & Poetry with Artist Marie Olofsdotter

Tell your story through bookmaking, poetry and collage in this two-part class. You must attend both sessions to complete the project. We will write poetry about our lives and create beautiful books to house the words. The final project will be a precious keepsake and anyone who loves scrapbooking will love this class.

Soda Bottle Bird Feeder


Materials Needed:
1 clean 1-liter soda bottle
Craft knife
Wooden spoon
Twine for hanging
Marker
Cotton ball

Start by deciding where your spoon will go. It will be the perch for your bird while it eats. Mark the area for the hole needed on the front and back of the bottle.

I am so excited for Mother's Day! Macaroni Recipes: Mom's Chicken Curry


A yummy dish from my childhood

If you have never had curry, try this recipe. It has a mild curry aroma and taste, but it is still delicious! 

What you will need: 

  • 1/2 cup chopped onion - I use yellow
  • 1/2 cup chopped celery
  • 1/4 cup of butter
  • 2 cups chicken broth
  • 1 can of diced tomatoes (do not drain)
  • 1/3 cup flour
  • 1/4 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tsp. curry powder
  • 3-4 cups diced cooked chicken or turkey - I use three large chicken breasts and they are ...
